Beastkins are mythical creatures that roam the lands of Evernoll. Originally wild and hostile, Evernollians have managed to domesticate them over centuries, integrating them into daily living as pets, livestock and to help with labour or service, co-existing in harmony with them. Though there are some beastkins which exist who remain wild and untamable. Currently there are 3 catagories of Beastkins:

Domestic Beastkins are kept as household companions by Evernollians. Domestic Beastkins are often helpful to their owners and may be prone to develop deep bonds with their owners that last lifetimes.

Entry.01: Fyrewhisps

About | Fyrewhisps are mouthless feline-like beastkins made from the sparks of magical flames. They come in a diverse range of breeds, colors and possess legs made of fire that are harmless to touch. However due to being a creature of fire, it requires a frequent amount of wood to keep it's flames burning continuously. It is also deathly afraid of water and cold climates

Fyrewhisps are reserved in temperament but are said to be loyal companions to whoever can earn it's trust. However, when it feels threatened, it is said a Fyrewhisps' body temperature rises up rapidly, burning whatever it's feet touches.

Entry.02: Blossomhounds

About | Blossomhounds are canine beastkins imbued with plant magic. They are in tune with nature and are often born with the corresponding flower of it's native area. Blossomhounds come in a variety of different breeds, shapes and sizes.

Blossomhounds are among the few beastkins that do not require physical "food" to survive. (although some owners may still offer them mock treats) Energetic and powered by the surrounding nature, If the area it lives in is thriving and healthy, then it too will remain healthy and thriving making them convenient to raise. Blossomhounds are protective of their owners and may often times accompany their owners wherever they go, establishing them as loyal but affectionate companions.

Entry.03: Wayverns

About | Wayverns are winged reptilian creatures with crystals forming parts of their body. Originally massive in size back in the olden days, Wayverns have shrunk in size from domestication. Today they live up to their namesake and serve as trusty navigators for the lost and are commonly chosen by adventurers and resource gatherers as travel companions, thanks to their innate ability to resonate with the viberation of rocks and crystals. A Wayvern's age can be estimated by the amount of crystals that have grown on their body.

Due to their navigation abilities, Wayverns are considered intuitive, being able to read their owners well.

Entry.04: Feenix

About | Feenixes are winged mouthless avian creatures that come in vibrant colors. After being bred for many generations, Feenixes are often sought out for their unique combinations and often seen as "exotic" among domestic pets available. Outside of looking pretty, Feenixes are intelligent navigators, sometimes being employed to retrieve and send messages between realms. Feenixes are recommended to be raised from young as that's where they develop bonds the easiest.

Feenixes are very particular beastkins. When not raised from young, They tend to be highly selective about who they choose as their owner. Feenixes are also are self-sufficient and groom themselves regularly, sometimes even extending that towards their owners as a form of bonding.

Livestock Beastkins are kept as a labor force by Evernollians. They may be kept in groups, have resources such as fur, meat or abilities that assist Evernollians with daily living.

Entry.01: Floofleece

About | Floofleece are sheep-like creatures that possess incredibly fine wool used to produce clothing for Evernollians. They come in a variety of different breeds with each breed having a unique wool texture. They are often kept in herds and tend to thrive surrounded by fellow Beastkins. It is said that Floofleeces can convert the magical properties of the grass they consume into the quality of their wool. However, The quality of said wool may dull once a floofleece reaches old age.

Despite it's soft wool, Floofleece can be quite temperamental, especially mother Floofleeces who get protective of their young. Adult floofleece are massive in size and can utilize their horns to headbutt whoever they deem intends to harm them. But with proper care and conditioning, Floofleeces can be trained to co-exist calmly alongside Evernollians.

Entry.02: Emberhens

About | Emberhens are rooster-like creatures with feathers made of fire and pine leaves. They are responsible for producing Evernollian eggs. Emberhens have high body temperatures, when slain, they may erupt into flames and essentially cook themselves, making them easy to prepare. However, caring for Emberhens may prove to be challenging due to their flammable nature. Emberhens are easily startled and have the ability to breathe fire which can occur as a outcome.

Emberhens are sensitive and require delicate care to handle. When fully tamed, Emberhens can be a comfort to have around as their natural body heat can help to soothe nerves of other living creatures.

Entry.03: Chimiras

About | Chimiras are 4-eyed, enormous goat-cow-like creatures covered in thick hides and have flower-like antennas that are sensitive to nature auras. Chimiras are herd Beastkins responsible for producing milk which they make through the conversion of magic in the grass they eat similar to Floofleeces.

Noted as being gentle giants, Chimiras are obedient towards their handlers and may sometimes even be purposed as a noble stead to accompany travelling merchants or adventurers thanks to their size and capability to carry heavy objects.

Entry.04: Golem

About | Golems are figurine-shaped creatures made of stone and metal. In the wild, they are small enough to fit the palm of a hand, often residing in forests among groups. Despite their wild nature, Golems are tame and friendly to Evernollians. Able to grow up to thrice their size with the proper care, Golems are beloved beastkins who assist with manual labour and behaving as protectors of their owners and home.

Golems are considered helpful and friendly but may move slowly the bigger they are due to being made from heavy materials. They are somewhat well-respected, having lived alongside Evernollian society throughout ages. Helping civilization with building and recycling waste materials.

Wild Beastkins are often found in the wild and are usually not suited to domestic life. (Although in some cases they can be) While some wild Beastkins are harmless, there are also numerous species that can be dangerous and prone to attack which is why Evernollians must exercise caution when encountering them.

Entry.01: Pinehog

About | Pinehogs are burrowing beastkins that resemble a mix between a hedgehog and a pinecone. They assist the ecosystem by planting tree seeds, making them highly important to the forests. They are harmless with possibility to be domesticated as a household pet but require a lot of care and time to maintain.

Pinehogs are shy in nature, often hiding in their cone hides as a protection mechanism but can grow to become affectionate when attached. They are considered to be familial Beastkins, often getting along with fellow Pinehogs and are observed to carry their children on their backs before they mature to walk on their own.

Entry.02: Elkhorn

About | Elkhorns are ethereal stag-like creatures made of half crystalized trees, feather-like bristles and half magical essence. Elkhorns are swift moving herd beastkins that migrate together in groups and reproduce quickly, often hunted for their meat. They are said to have the ability to control the weather.

Elkhorns are cautious creatures. They are fearful of Evernollians and tend to avoid them unless they sense weakness or no intent of harm from them.

Entry.03: Shroomcroaker

About | Shroomcroakers are small amphibian creatures with mushrooms that grow on their backs. They are often found close to bodies of water and are often sought out for their mushrooms which possess magical properties. They are relatively harmless and neutral towards Evernollians but can be poisonous if ingested.

Shroomcroackers are abundant in the wilderness and are poisonous to most beastkins, giving them little to no known predators, which makes them quite non-chalent about Evernollians as they don't see them as a threat.

Entry.04: Saberfang

About | Saberfangs are predatory Beastkins with large fangs protruding from their faces. They evolved to be skilled hunters, with proficiency in speed, stealth and attack power. They can be aggressive and territorial, often hunting in large groups which making it easy for them to overpower an unlucky adventurer that stumble onto it's turf.

Saberfangs are aggressive to both Evernollians and to fellow Saberfangs. Despite hunting together as a group, they appear to have a hierarchy system where the strongest leads while being defensive to Saberfangs outside of their group.
