What If...
Mythical Creatures were real and we hunt them for sport?

Since the dawn of time in this reality, creatures of myth have existed alongside humanity. But once discovered, they became something else entirely: targets.

For some, mythical creatures are viewed as profit and power.
Elite hunting guilds rose to prominence, dedicated to hunting creatures across the world.
Their corpses, magic and labor are used for the benefit of mankind
While others, viewed mythical creatures as lives worth defending.
A resistance group known as the Guardians dedicate themselves to protecting these creatures.
They rescue creatures, defend habitats, and guide the lost back to safety.

Between domination and protection, one question remains:
Who has the right to decide the fate of myth?
As hunters expand their reach, mythical creatures grow increasingly rare. but resistance grows in the shadows.

About

‘Mythkeepers’ is a project that explores the question of ‘What if Mythical Creatures were real and we hunted them for sport?’ through collectible figurine character design.
Inspired by designer toy culture like Pop Mart, Mighty Jaxx and Funko Pop, the project presents two opposing factions: Hunters, those who exploit mythical creatures for personal gain, and Guardians, those who protect mythical creatures from harm. Mythkeepers explores ‘power dynamics’ between these two clashing forces, mirroring how endangered animals are both hunted and protected by humans in real life.
The project is delivered through a collection of blind boxes and a dedicated website that visualizes this alternate ‘What If’ universe. Each box consists of a character and complementary accessories that give insight to their role in this world.
